kay, your language coach
experience
both formally, at The College of William & Mary, and through self study, kay has over a decade of experience in language acquisition and teaching. she fluently speaks five languages, can converse in 10, and dabbles in about 30. a classically trained violinist, she has a finely tuned ear that can help you master pronunciation in a language.
methodology
kay uses Communicative and Task-Based Language Teaching (CBT and TBLT respectively) in her classes. she uses various forms of media, including television and music, to introduce grammatical concepts in the target language, and to improve listening comprehension through naturally occuring language as is spoken by native speakers.
your first class with kay
kay values her connection with her students, and takes the time understand who you are, and your motivation for learning a language. she will ask about your hobbies and interests to make sure all of future classes are personalized to you. in this first class, kay will go through a baseline conversation to understand your current level, and will teach a lesson based on that conversation. all subsequent classes are tailored to your interests, focused 100% on how you learn.
